Yasu sat upone a cliff watching the heards of deer and horses below him in the valley grazing quetly with one calling out to a child every now and then. He had been there for the better part of the day just watching them. Sighing softly to himself he glanced at the sky and noticed the darkening clouds. Thinking it was better for him in slid off of the grey rocks he blended into and silently made his way back to the small cave he had taken up several months ago.

In the sky, Cuerva looked at the wolf begin to retreat to his dwelling, and began to circle down, thinking of perhaps finding a small bit to nibble on. he slowly circled and glided dow to the rocks, landing alsomt silently on a small boulder, eyeing the wolf with a curious but cautious gaze.

Yasuo eyed the crow that had landed on the rocks he had just recently vacated. Noticing the birds keen and curious eyes the old wolf wondered what it wanted. "Is there a reason you have landed here to watch me, crow?" Yasuo asked wishing to know the birds reasons. "If you are trying to steal food, then you are out of luck I have not hunted in the pass few days."

The crow ruffled up, then said "you can't call it stealing if it isn't wanted anymore...that and because it's rare when wolves return to their kill...that aside, i thoght there was some scraps, but somehow, forgive me if i don't take your word for it" The crow knew there wasn't a pack around, or this wolf would most likely be doing babysitting duty. And without the sign of any pups, he knew there wasn't much to worry about.

The old wolf just gazed at the bird for a minuet. "Suit yourself if you wish to have a look around crow, but I do not lie there is no food nearby." Yasuo said before turning and walking way from the bird and back to his cold den. The smell of rain was strong in the air now and the cloweds where fallin upon them quickly covering the once brightly sunlit area into a shadowed darkness.

The crow knew the rain was coming, but desided this was much more entertaining, not in a cruel sense, but simply because now with the nesting season over, the crows and other birds were now with their flocks. That wasn't Cuerva's cup of tea. He enjoyed his flockless life, less sharing. Sure it meant not always sleeping well, but that's the risk. the crow said "I'll take your word for it, wolfy, after all, I trust your word.

Yasuo paused as the crow spoke to him once again. "So what will you do since there is no food here? Will you return back to your pack?" Yasuo asked using the wolf turminalogy of family groups.

The crow laughed, then said "If I had a flock to go to, I wouldnt be here, besides, one could ask the same of you, lest you're a soul like me" the crow ruffled it's feathers before sittingo the boulder, ready still to hop and fly away, but much less tense than before.

Yasuo sat down after turning and fully facing the crow for the first time. "What do you mean bird? That you have left your pack to wander alone?" Yasuo was surprised at the possiblity that one would voluntarily leave their family after having spent their whole life with them. Though it was a shoock it was not unheard of most fear being kicked out of the family more than anything in the world. It ment you where truly alone.

the crow nodded, saying "Yes, i did. not that it was much of a choice, I git lost from the flock when i was a yearling, and got into a fight with another male over territory. I lost, and decided I'd fly alone. no one would look after me, but in exchange, I could be as free a bird as I could. As a wolf, i understand your surpriser, since most of you see family as life. But fate is fickle, and when must play the game with the cards we're dealt" the crow blinked, then eyes some of the landscape near the cave. "nice location for a home, great view, but must be bothersome if you get spotted on the mountain while hunting"

"I see." Yasuo commented lightly. "As for my home there is no real danger. I picked this spot because it makes it harder for another to sneak up on me when there are so few trails that can be fallowed and as for being spotted when hunting my fur helps me blend into the mountain side." glancing at the grey of the rocks around his lonesome den.

The crow laughed, saying "just shows how poor the eyesight you land creatures have, unlike most of the birds i know, we'd have spotted you even with a fog over here...but still to the main reason i came, I'm bored, it's gonna rain, and i prefer the company of grounded indiviuals over the flying types. in short, I'm making myself your guest. so i suggest you get used to my fast" and the crow flew staight into the cavern, disappearinf fast into the darkness.

Yasuo fallowed the bird into his cold den with a shak of his head. How he had gotten the company of a pesky crow he would never know but at least he was not alone anymore, at least for the time being. "So crow what is you name. If you are to stay here for the time being I think it is only appropriate to know the name of my tempory pack mate."

The crow laughed, saying "that's something I'd never thought I'd hear...well, I'm Cuerva, formerly of the northern crow flock of this region. and what be your name, since you're eager to know mine.." the crow fluffed itself up and sat on the floor of the cave, staring with an unreadable gaze.

" I was given the name Yasuo. I was formaly from the sotheren pack of the land just beyond these mountains." Yasuo said in his even voice as he laied upon the dirt floor facing the entrance to the cave.
